In 1911, Martha was living with her
parents at 8 Northumberland Terrace, Everton, Liverpool [5]. By 1938, Martha and her sister Maggie were running the
Post Office at 9 Netherfield Road, Liverpool [7]. Their
cousin's son Nicol, in 1938/9 a teenage radio officer in the merchant navy,
would stay with them when he was in Liverpool [6].
