Jeannie was photographed
in 1901 with her mother and grandparents McQuat, outside the
grandparents' remote cottage of Penbreck, Cumnock, Ayrshire.
Jeannie McWhirter married
James Paterson and they lived for a time at 6 Hunter St., Ayr.
Jeannies grandmother was also living with them at some
stage as this was her address at her death. Jim and Jeannie had
three children, Agnes who married a Soldier or Marine and lived
for a time in Spain and the U.S.A., James who became a policeman
in London and Robert who was a ships engineer in Canada. He
is thought to have been Harbour master at Quebec.
