Andrew MacFarlane of Acharosson, 2nd
Laird, was born before 1 June 1756 (when he was baptised in Kilfinan Parish,
Argyllshire) in Scotland. Prior to his succession he lived at Inversnaid,
Stirlingshire, and thereafter at Acharosson in Kifinan Parish, Argyllshire. He
married in 1785 his distant cousin Miss Jean Campbell of Ormidale, who was a
daughter of Alexander Campbell of Ormidale, 2nd Laird, and became Lady Acharosson. They had two daughters and six sons.
Andrew died on 6 July 1825[2].
A tablet was erected on the wall of Kilfinan church "In Memory of ANDREW
MACFARLANE of Acherossan who died 6th July 1825 age 85, and JANE CAMPBELL his
wife who died 3rd June 1821 age 57". The tablet was displaced after 1973, and is
now in the vault[3].
