Ann Wallace was born in
Campbeltown, Argyll, in 1875 to James and Ann Wallace. By 1881
they were living in Mount Pleasant Street, Greenock. Her name is
given on sevaral documents as Annie, and this is probably how
she was known to friends & family.
In 1898 Annie married Nicol McKechnie[6].
Between 1902 and 1904 they moved to Rochester, Kent[4].
Some time before 1915 they returned to Greenock, and in 1915 Nicol died
tragically at the age of 39[6],
leaving Annie with five children.
