Certificate |
Thomas was born in
Kensington in 1857. In 1881, he was a carpenter living with his widowed
mother, carpenter brother, and dressmaker sister at their
workshop at 8 Russell Gardens Mews, Kensington. He married
Frances Hunt, and in 1901 they were living at 76 Netherwood Road,
Hammersmith with their children and his mother and his unmarried
sister Elizabeth.
|
This
signature was on a fragment of brown wrapping-paper in
the possession of Thomas's grandson Stephen Dungate.
Assuming it was addressed to Stephen, it can only have
been from Thomas, as his other grandfather died before
1901. |
