David Rollo was born in
about 1849, to Elizabeth and James Rollo. He joined the
Caledonian Railway, and in 1868 when he married Mary Greig, was a
railway porter at Dunblane. By 1881 he had been promoted to the
post of guard, and was living in Callander. In 1887 his wife Mary
died of heart disease, and the following year he remarried, to
Jemima Mowatt.

David died of pneumonia in
1922 at the age of 73, at Elderslie Cottage, Callander.
